Tiring myself out

What a day! :)

I woke up at 7am (incredible, I behave like my grandma... ;] ). Tate Britain is to blame - today at 9 there was a curator's talk organized especially for the staff. Of course I couldn't miss such occasion, even if it required getting up early! Early bird catches the worm ;)
The lady, the first curator I've met here, came a bit late, but it doesn't matter :) She told very interesting things about the new Eva Rothschild's exhibition. I took some notes as if I were still a student listening to a lecture :)

Then I headed towards Waterloo Station to a road called Lower Marsh. There was supposed to be an organization for people who want to work in cultural institutions. It seems that there's no such place any more... :( I hate it when I prepare myself for something special and then it turns out that my expectations and hopes come to nothing...
Fed up, I decided to cheer myself up with a bit of luxury: a nice falafel sandwich and a cup of coffee with soy milk :) It worked! :) The vegetarian cafe I went to wasn't the coolest place I've ever been to but at least the food and drink was worth its money.

The weather didn't seem to change much so I decided to take a walk to Serpentine Gallery. With AZ map in my bag I walk through St. James Park, Green Park, and finally Hyde Park. There was an enormous crowd in front of The Buckingham Palace - people were watching the guards exchange. And so did I :)

To be honest I didn't expected so many people at the Jeff Koons's exhibition! I remember when I first saw his Puppy made of flowers in Bilbao. From that time I like his art, full of consumer goods.
Before I got there I wanted piss badly! But as soon as I noticed the art works nothing else was more important than see the exhibition immediately! :)

In the parks there were lots of people, ducks, and squirrels :)

The last place I wanted to visit was The National Portrait Gallery. It was a long walk from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square...
I took a chance to go to Borders in Oxford Street to buy The Ultimate Guide To Graphic Design - this is how it ends when I enter a shop. Never can resist temptation to buy something for myself... (well, I do buy stuff for others, really, I'm not that selfish!) :)
I think everyone will agree that walking along Oxford Street is a big challenge! To make my route easier I followed a guy in a nice color-stripped shirt - he was pushing through the crowd and I was right behind to save my time :) He had a nice perfume ;)
When I finally reached my destination, I was REALLY REALLY tired! I didn't managed to see the whole collection, only the BP Portrait Award 2009. It's amazing what people can do with paints and brushes...
