The end of summer

I think last week was one of the best weeks I've had in London! :) Really! :)

I've finished my intern at IP without any complications or problems but with a smile on my face :)) This is one of the drawbacks of capitalism that everyone wants to earn money and not employ too many people, and I had to leave... Anyway, I feel like I've learned A LOT, gained PLENTY OF experience and... (maybe the most important thing...) changed my attitude towards life, towards other people and myself, too. Sometimes when I look at the mirror I can no longer see the Magda that was there 2-3 months ago... But I'm happy about it ;)) Is it progress? We'll see...

I also had my 4 days of holidays! Even though I stayed in London I felt like a tourist with my Amiga during this time :) We had fun, relaxed, got tired trying to do each day as many things as possible, and saw interesting places :) Even going to an ordinary pub in Shoreditch can be an unforgettable experience ;) Ay ay ay... ;))

My feeling of the end of Summer is stronger now because I start a new job today... And maybe a 2-week intern tomorrow... OMG...
The season changes and my life changes as well...

My throat hurts me today...

It hurt me yesterday, too, while I was watching War of the Worlds (good movie, by the way, although I'm not fond of Tom Cruise...)
And today when I woke up I felt even worse :( Damned... Illness is the last thing I need now... I have to go to Tate tomorrow, finish my intern from Monday to Wednesday, take care of Raquel from Thursday to Monday (sightseeing, parties etc... :)) and (I wish it was true) 'start my new life' soon ;) I'm a busy person now, I just can't get sick, I CAN'T! :)
I drink lemsip and swallow aspirin... Will it work? Hope so...

Magda's experience

5 months in London, 4 jobs, 4 professional interviews, 2 talks about work - not bad, I think ;))
If anyone needs advice before going to an interview, let me know! :)

The 1st one, the most stressful, was at TB. The worst thing was that I arrived 5 minutes late, sweating (it was April, really hot weather & no air-con on the trains...), but, as you can see, being punctual doesn't mean you'll get what you want ;) I remember my stress 'evaporated' when we started talking - my interlocutors turned out to be pleasant women :)

I went for the 2nd one at IP with different approach. After my first unsuccessful intern at Monster's Cave I wasn't so eager to get this position although I wanted to try doing internship one more time. It was rather a nice chat than a serious interview but T asked me some tricky questions about my future etc :)

The next interview wasn't successful. I felt as it it lasted for ages - loads of questions! I applied for a press assistant :) It was a nicely looking office run by 2 women. They looked demanding and so were their questions. My failure :)

The 4th and last one, until now, was today. It started 25 minutes late - this time it wasn't me who was late. When I entered the room and saw 4 people sitting at the table I felt intimidated! Later the conversation went fast and luckily I didn't have any problems answering their questions :) Anyway, I may be satisfied with myself but who know how did they feel about me... I'll know next week...

Art Killer

R & M challenged me today with a pretty hard task: dismantling a huge Marianne's sculpture. It was made of found materials covered in spray or something like that. It would be rather impossible to store it because of the size so M decided to cut it into smaller pieces and keep them in bags.
I don't remember how long did it take me to do that but probably about 5 hours...
I felt as if I were on a battlefield trying to figure it how to deal with my 'opponent' ;))
I've never destroyed an art work before! :))
I planed to go to the gym later but I came back home so tired...
I took a shower but still have some spray dots on my hands...
What a day!

Somewhere I NEED to go!

I've seen to Gardens & Cosmos exhibition in British Museum today.
The paintings were amazing! They're so different from the ones I've seen during my Art History studies... So colorful, so precious, and so calming down at the same time...
I'm eager to go to India now!!

The next exhibition in BM will be about Aztecs. Mexico - another place I HAVE to see!!

Yes, we're monkeys

I've seen a remake of Planet of the Apes yesterday. It wasn't the first and most important version from the 70s but still the plot was incredible (I don't know if they changed anything).
First of all, it wasn't, I would say, a 'typical' American movie with action, love, beautiful women and happy end.
I liked the way the apes' world was presented - so similar to ours! Intrigues, power abuses, devotion, improbable believes and the horrible treatment of animals-humans.

Just look at us - yes we're monkeys :))

Strange dream

WOW, I woke up at 9:30 today ;))
I had a strange dream, about my previous job in Vita...
I was thinking yesterday about it. I'd like to take Raquel there when she comes to visit me in August :)

I didn't work there in my dream, too, but I went just for one day to cover someone's shift. However, the rest of the people were there, even my Sis. We started with having a soup in tiny bowls. I was sitting on K's knees and we were sharing this plate. The main dish was some veggie burgers with potatoes (no, you can't have it there).
Whenever Agave appears in my dreams he's so different than in reality... He's so unpleasant etc. Whatever...
Fon wanted us to prepare a special dance to attract customers. We were standing it 2 rows. Don't know why Agave's feet were covered with mud and smelt badly...
Later boys decided to have fun with chickens... Poor animals - they were bleeding...

A nightmare... I'm glade I woke up :)
